Map and profile
A fictional track drawn for this demo: it does not follow any real path. For the same reason there is no link to an online map (OpenStreetMap or other).
Schematic map, north at the top: a 13 km there-and-back walk (6.5 km each way) on the same path. Start: Place de la Fruitière, in front of the town hall (or Les Granges car park, 1.6 km shorter). The route heads north. Highest point: 2,150 m, with 1,050 m of climbing in total.
Elevation profile: steady climb from 1,100 m to 2,150 m on the way out, then down the same path.

The route
- Climb to the hamlet of Les Granges, then up the track to the Ormaz summer farm.
- Above the farm the path crosses the pastures (herd in July and August), then zigzags up.
- Cross a scree slope for 400 m: follow the cairns, do not cut corners.
- Final climb to the Pointe Grise hut (2,150 m). Return the same way.
Things to see
- The hut and its terrace (meals and drinks when staffed)
- Views of the ridges
- Ibex, sometimes, above the hut
