Hiking trails

- Easy: wide or well-marked path, little climbing, for all walkers, in closed trainers.
- Moderate: mountain path with some steady climbs; hiking boots recommended.
- Hard: a long day, over 1,000 m of climbing, rocky sections: for fit, well-equipped walkers.
Before you go
- Check the mountain weather the day before and in the morning: Météo montagne (Météo-France website, in French, opens in a new tab). In summer, storms often break in the afternoon: start early.
- Tell someone your route and when you expect to be back.
- Herds in the summer pastures are sometimes guarded by livestock guardian dogs: what to do.
- In an emergency, call 112 (mountain rescue), give your position and keep your phone on.
